More Info

Glass Associates has completed over ten laboratory conversion and renovation projects at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and also consulted on laboratory projects at the University of California, Berkeley.  Two additional projects are under construction and in design.

The UCSC projects are usually generated to accommodate the research needs of newly-arrived programs, professors or principal investigators.  The laboratory projects have ranged in size from a few hundred square feet to over 1,000 s.f. and have ranged in scope from remodeling of existing laboratory space to conversions of non-lab spaces to laboratories.   The projects have served such diverse research and teaching areas as Adaptive Optics, Ancient DNA Research, Biomolecular Engineering, fossil TM analysis, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Anthropology, and stem-cell research for the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) project.  These projects have also provided specialized research spaces, including clean rooms and BSL2 labs.
